Common questions
Do I need a teaching qualification?
No formal qualification required. You need to be a native or near-native speaker of the dialect you want to teach, and comfortable working one-on-one with adult learners. We verify both during the application.
How much does Bernaly take?
Nothing, while we are in early access. Your learners pay you directly, so the full amount is yours. Once payments move onto the platform we plan to take 10% of each completed session, with no listing charges and no monthly subscription. We will tell you before that changes.
When and how do I get paid?
Directly by your learner, by TWINT or Swiss bank transfer, arranged between the two of you around the session. Bernaly does not hold your money and does not pay it out. When we move payments onto the platform you will get payouts to your own account, and we will walk you through it before anything changes.
How much time do I need to commit?
Up to you. Some tutors do 2 sessions a week as a side income, others do 20+ as a primary job. Set your availability honestly. Students value reliability more than volume.
Can I teach more than one dialect?
Yes, if you're genuinely fluent in multiple. During application you'll declare each dialect with your fluency level, and we verify each separately.
